Privacy policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

In short

robomap is a public directory. It has no accounts, no sign-up and no ads. We collect only what we need to run the site and to see how many people use it. We never sell your data.

Data controller

The data controller responsible for the processing of your personal data is the person named in our Impressum. For privacy questions, write to hello [at] robomap.co.

What is stored in your browser

NameTypeWhat it holdsKept forWhen
rm_consentCookieYour answer to the cookie banner: “granted” or “denied”. Nothing else.1 yearAlways, once you answer
ph_…_posthogCookie and local storageA random visitor ID and session ID from PostHog, the page you first arrived from, and PostHog’s own settings.Up to 1 yearOnly after you accept Analytics

The rm_consent cookie is necessary: without it the site would ask you again on every page. It is set by robomap.co and is not shared with anyone. You can change your answer at any time: .

Analytics (PostHog)

Our analytics provider is PostHog, hosted in the EU. How it works depends on your cookie choice:

  • You have not answered the cookie banner. We count your visit without storing or reading anything in your browser. PostHog receives the pages you view, the website that referred you, your browser and device details, your IP address, and clicks on a company's website link. The visitor number lives only in the open page, so we cannot recognise you after a reload or on another day. We do not record your session. We rely on our legitimate interest in knowing how many people use the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • You choose “Deny”. We stop counting your visits. Nothing is sent to PostHog, and any PostHog ID stored earlier is removed.
  • You accept Analytics. PostHog stores the cookie and local storage entry listed above to recognise your browser across visits, and may record your session (the pages, your clicks and scrolling) to help us find problems. This is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time in the cookie settings.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. When your browser asks for a page, Vercel processes your IP address, the page address, the time, and your browser type, and keeps short-lived logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a stable and safe website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Content loaded from other services

To show the map and company logos, your browser loads files directly from two other services. They receive your IP address and browser type, as with any web request. We send them nothing else, and they set no cookies on robomap.co.

  • OpenFreeMap: the map tiles.
  • logo.dev: company logos.

We rely on our legitimate interest in showing a working map and recognisable company entries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Links to other websites

Links to company websites and to job postings carry the tag utm_source=robomap.co, so the other site can see that the visit came from robomap. The tag says nothing about you. Once you leave robomap, the other site's own privacy policy applies.

When you write to us

If you send us an email, for example to correct an entry, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Service providers

These providers process data for us:

  • Vercel: hosting and delivery (United States / global)
  • PostHog: analytics (EU)
  • OpenFreeMap: map tiles
  • logo.dev: company logos (United States)

Where a provider processes personal data outside the EU/EEA, the transfer relies on the safeguards of Art. 44 ff. GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • know which personal data we process about you, and get a copy (access and portability);
  • have wrong data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • have the processing restricted;
  • object to processing that is based on our legitimate interest;
  • withdraw a consent at any time, with effect for the future;
  • complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

To use any of these rights, write to hello [at] robomap.co. We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions about this policy or your data: hello [at] robomap.co.
